Sonogno

Sonogno is the last village in the Verzasca Valley that can be reached by car. If you are looking for authenticity and want to escape the crowds, this is an ideal destination.

At the beginning of the valley you will see the Contra Dam, made famous by the film "Goldeneye", where you can pretend you are James Bond by bungee jumping from 220m high.

Further up the valley you will see the famous medieval two-arched bridge of Lavertezzo, which spans the Verzasca River and its "pozzi", swimming spots in crystal clear water. A place so busy that you will probably not be able to park and will continue further up the road...

And there, at the very end of the valley, you will discover Sonogno, an old stone village that has kept all the authenticity of Ticino.

Don't miss out on a few hikes, including the one that takes you to the Froda waterfall, a half-hour walk from the village.
