Lago di Poschiavo

Lake Poschiavo lies south of the village that gives its name to Val Poschiavo, the remote valley in Italian-speaking Graubünden that can only be reached via the Bernina Pass on the Swiss side and the Valtelline on the Italian side.

It is a natural lake 2.5 km long, bordered on the west by the Bernina Express railway line and the road into Italy.

A flat hiking trail runs all the way around the lake, with some tunnel sections on the steeper eastern side.

The photos on this page are extracts from some of the panoramas we captured at Miralago, at the very end of the lake.
