Jetée d´Osches

A distinctive feature of the port of Ouchy since 1991, this sculpture, named ‘Eole’ (Aeolus), is in fact a weather vane, complemented by four monoliths installed on the quay, which use a perspective effect to identify the prevailing wind (north-easterly ‘bise’, south-westerly ‘wind’, south-easterly ‘vaudaire’ or north-westerly ‘joran’). Please note: these are only the main winds; in reality, there are around twenty different winds that blow over Lake Geneva!
