Castle of Grimisuat

The medieval keep at Grimisuat belongs to a very common type of castle in the Valais: a simple tower, a modest construction of no great defensive value, which served as an administrative headquarters and residence for lordly officials and the country gentry. The well-preserved Grimisuat castle was probably built around 1200 and has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries.
