View over Breithorn

The road leading up to the hamlet of Fafleralp, around the hill where the hotel and chapel stand, offers a magnificent view of the Breithorn, which rises to 3780m on the border between the cantons of Valais and Bern. The stream in the foreground is the Indre Talbach, which flows down from the Inner Talgletscher glacier at the foot of the Wetterlücke, a high-altitude pass (3169m) linking the Lötschental to the Lauterbrunnen valley in the Bernese Oberland.
