Aargau pig sty (19th c.)AbstractUntil the 1950s, pigs were raised in this type of pole construction, with a trough also filled with kitchen waste. The latrine was a simple hut adjoining the pigsty, a common combination at the time. The pigsty came from Brugg, a small town which remained fairly rural until the 1950s and 1960s.
