Wizards´ Tower

A remnant of the ancient ramparts that surrounded the town of Sion, this defence tower was built in the 14th century. Converted into a prison in the mid-16th century, it includes dungeons and a torture chamber. Its name probably refers to the witch trials that took place from the 15th to the 18th century. It can be visited as part of guided tours organised by the tourist office.
