Valley of the Dix

From the crest of the dam, the view over Val des Dix is absolutely breathtaking. The nine-storey building nicknamed ‘The Ritz’, which housed some of the engineers and workers during construction, now looks very small! In the distance, the view stretches as far as the Bernese Alps, the mountain range that lines the Rhône plain to the north, making Valais a beautiful region nestled among the highest peaks in Europe.
