Moudon

A small town rather unknown, as it's not located near the freeway. Situated on the road connecting Lausanne to Avenches, in a bucolic setting, its Upper Town is worth the visit, perched on sandstone cliffs, with stunning views of city and countryside.

Moudon

A little-known town, located off the main motorways but on the cantonal road linking Lausanne directly to Avenches, in a bucolic setting.

It is crossed by the Broye, a river born from small torrents in the Fribourg Pre-Alps and which gave its name to the whole region.

The upper town of Moudon is well worth a visit, perched on molasse cliffs and offering breathtaking views of the town and countryside.

A stroll along the picturesque Rue du Bourg through this old town dotted with ancient buildings before descending to the lower part of the town along the Broye is a must.

In this lower town, you can admire the church of Saint-Etienne, built in the 13th century, which boasts the oldest organs in the canton of Vaud, built in 1764 by the French organ builder Joseph-Adrien Pottier and carpenters from Fribourg.
