Bavaria (German Bundesland)

Bavaria, world-famous for its Oktoberfest in Munich, is the largest German Bundesland. It does not really border Switzerland, but its southwestern end touches Lake Constance, opposite the Austrian shore.

It's a tiny piece of Bavaria that borders the great lake shared by Switzerland, Austria and Germany: just 13 kilometres of coastline. The small city of Lindau, whose old town is nestled on the island of the same name, is located here.

During our 2022 "Switzerland Tour outside Switzerland", we were unfortunately unable to stop in Lindau to shoot panoramas, and we didn't even realize that we were passing through Bavaria...

But it is a region we will probably visit one day as part of our travels beyond the Swiss borders...

We still have a lot to discover!
